Family camping tents waterproof
Spending time with the family is a thing everyone wishes for, but due to work obligations does not always get time to fulfill this wish. Camping is one activity which can be enjoyed as a family and it also is more economical for those who need to look after their budget. When going for camping trips there are many things which need to be planned so that the family does not face many problems while having fun. The family camping tent is one thing which should be bought after enough consideration as it will be the base of the family. Cotton canvas tents are almost waterproof but are heavier.
The size of the tents is important as also is the waterproofing. Families want their camping holiday to be fun and water logged sleeping areas and bags would spoil the holiday spirit. Though one can plan their holidays in the most detailed manner looking on all the weather aspects but no one can rightly predict about a seasonal shower. Thus it is mandatory to look into the waterproofing aspect of the camping tent. With so many options available one can easily find a tent that is waterproof but some things need to be looked into even if the manufacture promises cent percent guarantee of safety from rain.
The seams need to be waterproofed using first a seam cleaner and then using a good seam sealer which should be applied on all stitches and fabric folds. The points where the walls are stitched to the floor mat and the edges of the zipper also need to be sealed using a sealer. Many camp tents comes with manufacturer’s instructions on how to do this and few may also provide with the supplies needed to accomplish this. The walls of the tents can be further made water proof using silicon waterproofing which is available in forms of spray and similar to a seam sealer will help keep rain away from inside the tent.
Another important thing in making the family tent waterproof is placing a rainfly on the top of the tent; it may come along with the tent also. The rainfly makes sure that it does not cover the windows so that the tent remains ventilated. To keep the floor dry a plastic tarp on the ground would be a good idea.
Camping trips are meant to be fun activity for the entire family and to avoid the rains from spoiling the fun special precautions need to be taken which would make the tent waterproof. After all, no one would like to sit and drench inside the tent when it is raining outside.
